Abstract We consider a smooth, compact and embedded hypersurface $$\Sigma $$ ? without boundary show that the corresponding (shifted) surface Stokes operator admits bounded $$H^\infty H ? -calculus with angle smaller than $$\pi /2$$ ? / 2 .
